I've decided after several years of using MySpace to help me with gang research, that I will close my account in October 2011, and move all my social media operations to Facebook, which I now have over 900 followers on there.  MySpace was a useful tool a few years ago, but now most people have abandoned the site and have Facebook pages.

Also this weekend I will be traveling to Yakima.  While I'm there I plan on looking for gang graffiti to take photos of, and I should have them posted to Flickr by early next week.  One area of interest is around N. 8th Street & East "D" Street.  Last night (09/22) a La Raza gang member was shot in the face at that location.  So we'll see whats going on there.

That's all for now, peace!

Big news out of Kent, Washington this morning.  Kent Police have made an arrest in the car show shooting that injured 12 people.  All six suspects KPD have identified are from the Playboy Surenos gang.  Their intended targets were from the rival Varrio Locos and Little Valley Lokotes gangs.  Below is a photo of a PBS tagging I found in Kent a couple years ago.

I should have some new graffiti photos posted online soon.  Hopefully next week I will get a chance to take pics in the Seattle area, and next weekend I'll be in the Yakima area taking pictures.

Thanks all for now, peace!

It's been a busy week for me and Northwest Gangs.  On Tuesday my website was featured in a Wenatchee World article, click here to read the story.  Then on Wednesday KOMO news radio interviewed me for their evening news on the recent gang activity in South King County.  Unfortunately I can't find a web link to the interview.

Also I've added a "donate" button on the home page.  I'm trying to gain some revenue for the website.  The cost of paying for the web hosting , Flickr page, and fuel cost for taking graffiti pictures adds up.  Anything donated would go to the continue cost of keeping up with Northwest Gangs, and maybe a little extra for my hard work!
